Hi all, I normally post in the gaming areas, but I'm about to build a new system and was looking out for feedback on some "gaming" LCD's.

Viewsonic VX922 and VX924 - what the opinion on these? Any major flaws? Which is better? I was looking at a machine from Monarch, and those 2 seemed like winners.
I tried to search for info in the forum, but every thread has a zillion posts :p

If those aren't so hot...any idea which direction I should look? I have a Sony 19" LCD that seemed great on paper, but has been stinker. Light bleeding and slower response time than the 8ms promised...so I don't want that kinda thing again!

i do love the quality of my vm2025xm viewsonic. - besides the dvi power saving issue.

There is much hyperbole on the screen door vx2025. I've seen them in person and the quality of imagery and text is average at best.

Make sure you sample the monitor for yourself before purchasing. The screen door effect of the display may not bother you.

I wasn't really thinking of a widescreen monitor.
Are they really the way to go? I find that even running 1280X1024 makes a lot of websites look "off." I know most FPS games can do that perspective...but how about everything else? I know my 16X9 television is annoying for about 75% of TV.
What's the take on 4X3 vs. 16X9 monitors?

Seeing as the NEC is pretty much the only LCD in this size rated better (and considerably more expensive), I would rate it better than average, especially if the price keeps dropping. 299 after rebate most recently.

I ordered a VX922 from Newegg and I have ZERO complaints. Beautiful picture, no ghosting in games, good viewing angles, plays movies well...it's just a fantastic monitor. I got mine for $269 with free shipping. For that price, it cannot be beat.

EDIT: It's down to $264.99 with free shipping now.

Wow, kinda hard to have complaints at that price. My wife needs a second monitor and I could use one for my servers.

Perhaps I should get this one as it will make a good standby for my LANparties.
