I just got a new 7900GS and I noticed that in the upper right of my monitor that that the text under the iconcs and the icons are a little distorted. I was installing new driver and there was no distorted text while i was in VGA mode...
Sounds like a problem with the refresh rate at the resolution you are using.
This might appear with other refresh rates and resolutions as well.
Its most likely a monitor fault.
