i was playign call of duty 2 for the first time when i found out that the game would barely run at a resolution of 1024x768. my card is a 9800pro that's overclocked, but is cooled with a zalman dual heatpipe heatsink and fan. at the lowest resolution, the game runs fine, but at higher resolutions, the game stutters along. with a horrible refresh rate and just about 1 frame per second. if i keep the game running at the 1024x768 resolution for more than a minute, the entire system reboots. earlier, i had a rebooting issue but i found out that the graphics card driver was the problem. i then replaced the video card driver with one supplied by windows, and the rebooting stopped occurring. could the windows video card driver be the issue? if so, where could i get a driver that worked with my comp, because when i installed the latest driver from ati, the rebooting issue started to happen? any help would be appreciated. thanks.
--also, i've been reading up in the sapphire forums. i've read quite a bit about incompatibility issues between 9800's and a VIA chipset (k400a to k800pro). I have an ASUS boarud with the k8t800pro chipset. this is probably the problem. i presume the only solution would be to change the board. if you guys agree that this is the case, then feel free to suggest a quality board for my Athlon 64 processor socket 939. Thanks.
