Well the biggest difference is likely the CUDA enabled video card, but that being said for encoding using MPEG stream clip, especially if your running 4 processes at once, the Hex Core is going to make a bigger difference than the new architecture.
Just wanted to give a quick performance update. Not sure if this tells anyone anything, but my 3930k build rendered a 1:30 1080p After Effects project in 9:40. That same project is rendering on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro (2760QM,16GB of Ram, Samsung 830, 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6770M) in about 45 mins. That is actually a way bigger difference than I would have expected.
