Taking a long shot here but how much would you charge for making a 30 second high-def video clip for a website? I would shoot, edit, and upload it. I know most pros charge by the hour but I'm thinking of doing it by the job.

I was thinking $399? It would probably take me 6-12 hours total for the whole project. Not sure if thats too little or too much. Also anyone know any forums that talk about this kind of stuff?

Wait, are you trying to hire someone to do this, or are you bidding the job to do yourself? A little confused by the language here.

Seems like you could put as little or as much time into a 30 second clip as you would want. If you really think you could do the whole project in ~8 hours, then $400 sounds like a very reasonable price. But personally I'd plan for quite a bit more time just in case; I'd say at least ~20 hours to get a good professional look to the final product.

Also, depending on the content and style of the vid, you might have to tack on additional costs for materials, equipment, travel etc.

(btw, I don't do video, just throwing out some more discussion points)
