• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

I currently have a Radeon 8500 and will receive a Radeon 9800 tomarrow. Will I need to reinstall the drivers, since they use the same ones? Any specific things I need to do?

play it safe and reinstall, also make sure you get that latest drivers.

I personally use the Omega 2.5.90's. There the fastest out there in my opinion.

the best reaon for a reinstall is that the drivers (especially the mega ones) have some options specific to the cards abilities. You could just retest the default settings, but a reinstall would be better.

Well, theres no real need to reinstall as the driver is the same. BUT to be on the safe side and avoid problems (one can never know) its better to uninstall the drivers before you remove the card and reinstall them with the new one.
Live long and prosper

I know it's very tempting to be lazy when getting a new card (I've been there), but just go ahead and do the right thing. An old adage applies here: if you have to ask, then you need to do it.
