Video card reverted to Basic Graphics

This might be an easy fix, but figured I'd ask.

Card: Powercolor 6850

I built my brother a computer, and he told me today that the graphics reverted back to the basic windows graphics w/o video drivers etc (huge icons/ bad graphics).

Typically i know this is the case before you get drivers etc, but he should have the latest ones which i put on his comp around christmas.

Any ideas what it could be? I guess I will be teaching him how to reseat the card and downloading new drivers tonight ha. I hope its nothing more serious than that which is why I was asking.

Only way to find out is to re-download drivers and use it / stress it.
I've had cases where broken drivers were actually a defective card.
Yep, tried it with a different card of the same model and it worked fine.... but that's beside the point.
It's more then likely a non-issue, just give'r a shot.
