Been a little out of it, as far as video cards go....

I have a 3870 X2 vid card, been looking at upgrading, however the X2 seemed to have died down in popularity. What would you folks recommend? I have about 400 to spend.
 
For now, the 5870 is probably the best option. You might want to wait til the end of the week and see exactly how the GTX470 will perform, but I'm not expecting it to either outperform the 5870 or drive down price.
 
As an FYI, they decided to remove the x2 moniker, but are still making dual-GPU cards. The 5000 series dual GPU card is the 5970, but at the price range you are looking at the 5870 is the better fit.
 
I vote, save a couple hundred and get the 5970 which is the dual gpu 5000 variant. If you can swing the initial investment, with the higher level of price gouging of the 5800 cards, the 5970 offers tremendous value (2 underclocked 5870 gpus that can easily be clocked to single 5870 speeds).
