Video card going out???

First off, there appears to be nothing wrong with it. My graphics are fine and everything seems to be working like it should....BUUUUT- I hear a high-pitched whine coming from my computer and I think it's from my card. Reason I say that is when I have something which relies on the vid card(like the visualizations in Real Player or even a high-graphic screensaver), that's when the sound is more noticable. It's not real loud, but it is noticeable. Do you think it's going bad?
Second, I'm thinking about getting a new card anyways and would like some recommendations. I'm not a hard-core gamer but I do play a couple of games(Ghost Recon is one) so I'd like to keep the price reasonable(between $50-100). A little help please.

Can you get any good video card these days for 50-$100? The minimum I guess.. to get a "good" card and a piece of crap that you can throw out the next month is for about $130....

Like the...9600 XT..
Your computer looks pretty high end overall....just a good graphic card (6800 NU or 6600 GT) or something and you will be set.


As for the whining sould your card makes....I have no idea.
 
It could be some case fans, it could be the fan on your CPU, or it could be a harddrive.
You could look in your case and see if there are any wires close to your fans or if there is crud/dust in them.
 
Yeah, that's kind of the reason I want a new vid card. Overall my computer is pretty well souped up so I kind of feel obligated to upgrade my vid card too :D . I know this is kind of a "preference" question, but which brands give the most bang for the buck?

I hadn't really looked inside to try to figure it out but like I said, it's noticeable when my vid card is being "loaded".
