Many cameras feature movie modes, yet it seems that review sites don't cover the details of the recorded movies as much as megapixels and whatnot.

Specifically, I'm wanting unlimited recording 640x480 at 30fps in an ultracompact camera. From what I've seen, there's nothing on the market that meets my needs in other areas.

Are there any review sites that cover these details?

www.stevesdigicams.com usually will have a thourough review. And I believe he puts in a sample video. Take a look at the Canon A70. I know it does 640x480 but I don't know about 30fps.

I have an A80 and it only does 320x240 but the quality is actually pretty good.

Sony has the best recording apparently.. So go with one of them.

I have a Minolta X 20 and i feel it records not half as bad as i thought it would... Probably not as good as you are looking for though.

Remember its nto a camcorder and quality will be sub-par. Go for a sony camera and a huge ass mem stick if you must.

What model? All of the Sony cams I've seen were very limited with recordring options.

I'm looking for the same thing - a really compact digicam that can double as a light duty camcorder (minus the weight!)

So far, only one meets that requirement: Sony DSC-T1

I haven't bought it yet, but am looking for feedback.

Hmm, this is my third post involving this camera ... I am sooo close to selling myself this camera :D
