vidalia for tor

Does anyone use vidalia for tor because im having a problem.

When i go to settings and then set it up for use when i use a proxy it wont let me use

: , /, \

there fore i cant put in the full http address for the proxy, any ideas?

I've installed the Tor bundle from I believe Tor's official site and it sets up everything automatically. It even has a FireFox extension in the lower right that you can click on to enable/disable Tor within FireFox. It doesn't really matter though because unfortunately it's so slow it's useless you're in China or somewhere and it's your only way to reach the uncensored internet.
 
But what i was asking is has anyone been able to set it up to work when a proxy is used?

for example when i try and type in
proxy.cnusd.k12.ca.us/proxy.pac

i cant type the /proxy.pac because it wont allow me to use /
