VIA Aqua Pump

Well I purchased the via aqua 1300 as an inexpensive cooling solution. I'm curious to see if anyone has the pump actually inside of their case, and if so, how they did it. Because the power plug is too large to fit outside of a pci slot, and any other way I run it seems like it'll just look goofy. I could always put an 3-2 prong adapter on it and run an extension out, but then all of the power cable(as if i don't have enough god damn cables in my computer) to the pump would be sitting inside my case. Any suggestions?

Are you going to use a relay with this pump like the Criticool Powerplant? If so, you don't need to run the cable from the pump outside the case. You just run it to a PCI card, and the PCI card plugs to your wall plug. If your worried about a mess of wires, either sheath them, or make a false floor on the bottom of the case and run all the wires underneith it.

atm, I don't plan on using a relay.. Right now all my cables are sleeved and i still have a massive mess in my case(one i get watercooling setup rtg, I'm going to die everything down and try to organize it as i like)... but I was looking for a much simplier process of running the cord out. I was also thinking about building a box next to my computer to hold the pump, radiator, and the reservoir. Any problems forseen with this?

also what relays can have a 3 prong cord plugged in?

Asetek sells their Waterchill power cables alone. That has a power supply pass through and connects internally. I think you plug your pump into it and power the internal thing with a flopppy connector, but the pass through might be able to take the 3 prongs.

Here's the info on it:

Control Unit DYO – CTU01 – incl. SafeStart™ and NoiseControl™
[03-L-0100]

Control Unit DYO

The WaterChill Control Unit, connected to a WaterChill pump and fan / radiator or any other pump and fan / radiator combination results in a unique safety operation, when turning on the PC.

Choose between 7V or 12V for a very low noise or a low noise system. This unit is a genius feature for the water cooling beginner or for the enthusiast seeking for the ultimate water cooling system.

Key benefits & features:

SafeStart™ - Electronically controlled device, which ensures simultaneous, shut down/start up along with the PC system.

NoiseControl™.

LED connection - to upgrade your Power PC system or cooler blocks with impressive light effects.

Hermaphrodite power connector to connect directly into the PSU (no cutting of 220V/115V wires).

PCI shield allowing a tidy and organized wiring of your water cooling solution.

For something like the criticool relay card you have to actually cut off the plug from the pump (bye bye returning it lol, although I dont think it actually voids the warranty on the pump...but not really sure about that either). You then take that and hook up the severed power wires to the relay card.

The relay card is nice because it will automatically turn on and off the pump when the computer is on and off, keeping you from having to worry about turning on and off the pump on your own, and preventing any possible overheating from forgetting to turn on the pump.

if you want, you can bend one PCI slot cover outwards, and an adjacent one inwards, and then run the plug through it... after that is complete, just bend them back... generally most cases will not be damaged at ALL by this, but i dunno how flimsy your case is...

Im assuming you have a case with pop-out pci slots, so you could probably do what diredesire suggested, you could also cut a hole out somewhere on the bottom of your case & route it out, otherwise I cant think of anything else that will leave you with a black wire coming out from a 3 1/2" exterior bay or something bad like that.
