VFD Question/Problem (Kind of)

Ok so I got my Notirake 2x20 VFD modules in.

Datasheet: http://noritake2.download.reliablenetworks.net/CU20025ECPB-W1J.pdf

Wired it up as per this website: http://www.icehw.net/article.asp?id=99

When I load LCD Smartie or LCD Center... it will display info. But not correct.

I made sure the settings were correct... but it seems to only want to put the info just about wherever it wants on the display. Like it is out of sync.

What I mean is it will show system stats... but not anywhere near where it says it should be displaying it.

I am kinda concerned because I found a VFD wiring diagram that is different for this display here at http://www.vfdworld.com/index.php?page=usingyourvfd

Notice at the bottom of that page... the #5 pin (r/w) is connected to Parallel pin #14. But according to ICEhw.com they just grounded #5 pin to molex black.

Could this be the problem?

Any info would be great... Thanks.

R/W should be grounded. R/W stands for, well, Read/Write, and your VFD will only be written to, so it should be grounded to set the mode to Write (Logic 0).

...not that it matters to your problem.

I suggest double-checking the wiring of your data lines D0 through D7. I will investigate further, but check that out for now.
