Very low Opteron 165 overclock...

Hello,

I just got an Opteron 165. I tried to see the limit of this cpu. It seems that it wont get higher than 240 x9 no matter how high the voltage is. I did this using the RAM at 1/2 divider. I can do 300x7 with no problems. Fiddling with the RAM timings seems to provide no benefit at all. Reading around I see people doing 2.6 at stock volts with no trouble at all! I know my RAM is good to at least 255 without any dividers since I used it on my old AMD 64. Did I get a really bad o/cer or am I missing something here?

Ive been seeing a few 165's lately that are OC'ing terribly. Hopefully yours isnt one of them and its something you missed, check your HT? Memory? Temps?

i did eventually get mine to do 245x9 reliably..250x9 worked some of the time. haven't tested stability yet, but it's been running 24/7 for a few days now with no problems.
