I'm beginning my studies for the VCAP5-DCA and I'm starting with the blueprint objectives pertaining storage, 1.1, and I have a couple of questions.

1. One of the requirements is to upgrade VMFS3 to VMFS5. I understand that VMFS5 automatically selects 1MB block size for the filesystem. However, during the upgrade from 3 to 5, it retains whatever block size your VMFS3 filesystem was. Does this pose problems when growing this particular volume beyond 2TB's?

2. Another requirement is to disable your storage filters. Why would you want to do this? What scenario would necessitate this change? It's protecting you from storage corruption..etc. I'm confused on why this would be a task?

1. When it grows past 2TB it changes automatically from MBR to GPT

2. The main reason I've known to use filters (the host rescan one in this case) was to prevent every other host from automatically rescanning every time you add a new volume(s). So you can just do it at the end manually.
