I have a vantec ION 400 PSU.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-104-968&depa=0

Problem is i have

3 120mm case fans
cdrom burner
36g raptor drive
nexsusfan controller
giga-byte i875p
2.8 @ 3.5 with a minor volt mod

minor voltmod to ram and GPU

9800pro @458
12v swiftech mcp600 pump
USB soundcard
usb mouse

I plan to get two CCFL's and my friend said i should get a power supply with a bigger +12v rail.

My +12v rail says 14/17A

Also when my CPU hits 100% when using 2 prime95's it sounds like a split second brown out like the fans get slower for one second then faster.

Seems like i need a new one,
should i get this one

or

I would like to get the last one but i heard (after reading the newegg reviews) that i need to use the front panel to get a stable voltage which i dont want to as it would ruin my case ; ;

sounds good but isnt that a 24 pin atx? i have a 20 pin mobo. it wont work with mine right?

It actually will, so long as you have ~.5" of clearence on the right side of the ATX connector, IIRC. Again, read that thread for the info you need to make the decision about 24-pin vs 20-pin, etc.

there are also converters if there isnt clearence to just hang the extra pins off the side

in short you need room for an extra 4 pins worth of space at the "top" of the connector if you view it on the mobo with the clasp to the right

or the right with the clasp to the bottom

opps :p

I checked and just my luck there isnt any room. so i bought a 24 - > 20 pin connector and with shippping cost me 20$. oh well money well spent thanks for all the help
