UV red fluid

Is there a truly red UV fluid? Or am I going to be looking for blood red fluid and mixing in UV fluid to avoid pink in my loop?

It depends on which you purchase. Pentosin G12 will give off a pinkish color without UV lighting. However, it'll light up red under UV lighting.

If you're looking for good UV-dyes that won't separate into particulates/cloud up like Fluid-XP, MCT, PC-Ice, then I would suggest either D-Tek's or Alphacool's dyes. Many of us have used both and haven't had any problems.

Thanks a lot. Are you putting the dye in water? or in a non conductive clear fluid?

Water... I'm not sure how well it would mix with the typical non-conductive coolants, but I can't imagine it would be bad... Those coolants are typically 80% water at the least anyways.

I run a distilled water (1$ a gallon, can't be beat) + a few drops of iodine + some pentosin + D-Tek UV dye.

When you mix your coolant, do you just add those additional additives directly to the entire gallon of water? If not, how big of a water bottle or whatever do you think is big enough to fill a loop?

I pour some distilled out (about an oz) and add the desired concentrations of additives directly into the jug... Cap and shake, store in the basement...

Excuse me asking a question in this thread, I didn't think a new one was needed. I was wondering what kind of red dye to use if I want a blood red color and am not using uv. Will something like the D-Tek uv red make a nice deep red without uv?

The proper way is to pour out a little for the homies who aint with us no mo', then pour into your loop.

but seriously, personally i just put the distilled water in the loop, then the additives like dye and biocide agents. i figure the movement of water through the loop will mix everything up fairly quick

Thanks for all the help. As im getting closer to putting this pc together and doing the project Ill keep everyone posted. Originally I was lookin at getting a YY 221 cube server to watercool but finding one has been a pain. Ill probably post something with the parts Im getting, came across this monster, dont think ill touch it though lol, its a bit much for a first time i think

It really depends on the ratio that you want in your loop. Pentosin is best kept between 5-10%. I personally use 5%. Biocide is only a few drops and same with any sort of dye.

So, I mix it 19:1 distilled water to pentosin. Grab a two liter bottle. Fill it up with distilled water. Empty out corresponding mix ratio. Fill up with additive. Add drops of dye/biocide. Shake well and serve cold.
