Using Peltier as drink cooler?

Has anyone done this?

I'd like to make a plexi stand, with a peltier mounted to it, and use it like a coaster. Set you drink on it to keep it cool.
 
Sharper Image (or was it Brookstone) is now selling a peltier cooler beverage holder for your car.

It does get COLD.
