Using 2 4870's.. even worth upgrading?

Right now my pc specs are

2 4870 1GB in Crossifrex
DFI 790FX MR2
AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE
4GB DDR2 800
2 80gb drives in raid for the OS, and a 500gb for storage.


I know, slow RAM. But the reason for that is it's the fastest my motherboard supports, so if I want new RAM that means a new processor too since any of the ones worth getting are not AM2+, but regardless, is it worth getting a 6870 OR a 5870? And which one?
 
what res do you game at? are they not performing up to your standards? they should still be a pretty good combo for most games depending on the res you use
 
I run at 1920x1080. I do notice a little bit of trouble in GTA IV and Just Cause 2. But nothing that makes it unplayable, not exactly sure how much better any of those cards will perform.

Neither of those cards would represent any kind of real upgrade over what you have now. I'd personally just say stick with what you got. If you wanted a single-card that is an upgrade you would have to go all the way to something like the 5970 or GTX580.

Ahhh ok, I probably will get a single card sometime later.. These damn 4870s heat up like crazy.
