USB Repeater HELP!!

So I wanted to put a quickcam up in my house somewhere. I bought 2 USB 2.0 active repeater cables at 15 ft each. After all I've read about being able to run these as far as 80', I figured I'd have no problem. So, I plug in the first one, and then plug in the camera to make sure it works. Works fine. I plug in the second one to the first one, and it says that an unknown device has been connected and there is an error installing it. So I unplug the second cable and plug it into the back of the computer, along with the first cable. I try the camera in both and have no problems, so I'm sure it's not a cable malfunction. SO I try to plug the second cable back into the first, and I get the same error. It seems that windows doesn't like the second cable being plugged into the first.

Has anyone else had this problem? Am I missing something? Help please? Anybody?!
 
have you tried getting a USB spliter, since it would recognize the spiltter and since you can have up to 128 USB devices i think that it would work.
 
Dude, you are a genius. For some reason, when i plug it into the back of the puter it doesn't work. But LO AND BEHOLD, when i plug it into my usb hub, it works with no problems! Strange...

its probably running out of power with the multiple repeaters. Your hub is probably putting out just enough more juice.
