I know someone who needs a usb adapter that will give 1+ monitor outputs, either vga or dvi. Price isnt an really an issue, but it needs to output at least 1650 x 1050 and be vista 64 compatable. anyone know of anything?

At least 1650x1050?

That's the maximum resolution this will do: http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=100-U2-UV16-A1&family=USB

If you go to EVGA's driver downloads, it supports both 64-bit Vista and 7. I've never used one myself though.

well thanks for the link. I had seen that before, just didnt realize they sold them at microcenter. That opened up a new world because I guess MC has a lot of these devices. Hows this one? I like it because its 1920x1200 which, for the person using it, might be necessary if he upgrades his 22" to anything bigger.

Now heres the whole setup: 15.4" laptop with 8600gt or gs, whatever the mobile one is called, displaying to laptop screen, 22" through vga port, and 28" lcd @ 1920x1200 through this usb thing. do you think that will all work? He ONLY wants it to do extended desktop, because he does a lot of multitasking and has some programs that display a lot of information over the screen.

looking into the tritton, @ 1920x1200 you have to use 16bit color, which kind of sucks, and I dont think you can use aero at any res. Looking like the evga might be the better option....reading reviews now
