Urgent PS3 Client info

Is anyone worred about over heating their PS3?

"Rugged" is not a word I would use to describe any console these days. "Quality Control" is not a Sony trademark. Not anymore.

Just curious.
 
I never turn mine off and it's not too hot...of course, it's not running at 100% load either.
 
Well I've been shopping around for a Piece of Shit 3.... I so hate consoles.... but I figure the kids will like it.

I dunno about these, if the PPD was known I miht be a little more incliend one way or another. Overheating is an issue, buying a 20 GB model used off eBay and cooking it off vs. in store new 60 GB model and if it's cooks off no big deal.....

I can't image it would overheat. 600+ bucks is a lot for me to drop on a stupid (in my view) thing that I can never get use to the controllers on...

Then again it's nice to run all the FAH clients just to do it...
 
I bought my 20 GB version mostly for Folding@home but its great for blu-ray playback too. If you do snag one at a store grab the extended service plan. I got the $29 3 year plan at Target. If it poops out within 3 years I'll get my money back.

 
Well I finally unboxed my 20GB PS3 last night and hooked it up. Did the Firmware updates to get it current and popped in the free Blu Ray disc that came with it...Works fine on my Front PJ for video but I cant get the sound to work worth a damn.. (like at all). Oh well maybe it can fold while I watch my HD DVD movies :)

Check your sound options in the system. I was running the audio through my HDMI and then from the optical out on my TV, but was unable to get DTS. When I tossed an optical cable from my PS3 to my stereo, I had to go in and change the audio settings in the PS3 before I could get any sound. Now, it werks graet. ;)
 
Well I finally got the sound working.. and looks like I can fold on it in 2 days too...D/Led the demos for Ridge Racer, Resistance and Motostorm and watched Talledega Nights...Boy I sure hope this thing is a folding beast cause the rest of it pretty well and truly sucked


 
Near as I can tell this is out... no points values knows only frame times so far.... Someone go plug theirs in and do what ever it is your suposta do.... :D

currently running F@H on mine. After firmware update to 1.6 a 50mb client download is required.
