APC. I have several of them and the only one has died on me, but it was 8 years old. I'd trust APC above any other.

The vast majority of people are going to tell you that APC is really the best that you're going to find anywhere, which I too agree with.

all APC here.

My brother's just failed, but it's 5 years old. and it was a POS then. lol.

I've been looking into getting a ups myself and the general consensus of where I've been browsing around has been that APC is the brand to go with. My only problem is finding one in a price range I like, heh.

got mine for 40 bucks

i just set it to hibernate after 1 minute of being on battery power... then i never lose data.. no problems at all.. i couldnt use the computer anyway... i tried it with my moniter on the battery, and it died after 1/2 second.. works about 5 minutes without the moniter though..

I have to agree with the vast majority here. APC

I've used them on home equipment, and it's what my
old job used for our data center. Solid performer, well built
clean sinewave power coming out, you can't go wrong. And they
stand behind their products.

When we had an issue with a unit at work (not the biggest most impressive config, but not a powerstrip either), they had a guy there same day to fix it (contract), but had a guy there the entire next week monitoring making sure that all power to all systems was being conditioned properly, and that their unit was performing as expected.

If it's a few buck extra for APC vs, the other one, spend it!

another vote for APC.

theres a reason why they're the biggest and why they're the best.

you figure it out. ;)

APC - Everything at home and everything at work are on APC backups.

Another vote for APC. We have about fifty of their 1400 rackmounts running across the world at work and I have one in my rack at home. We haven't had any trouble (besides the occasional dead batteries after a few years of service) with any of the rackmount UPSes dying.

thanks all ill be having my uncle pick it up at employee pricing from best buy this week.

thanks again,

Buck
