I bought a small APC-Type UPS...600V/A.
:D
>>When AC is lost, it has to pull the following:1x 220V fan, 2x 150W PSU's, 1x 500W PSU=PC/P4 3.06Ghz
:D
Actually I needs a much larger one, I would say 3x Times at least, but that will cost me 4 times as much.
>It has a 7AH battery.
>If battery is fully charched, it allows 1x proper shutdown of PC.
>If I then refail the power, the battery just let go before shutdown, killing PC.
>The load through it is indicated as 59%.

Question: SW=Commander Pro
>Have you, and can I attach a much larger battery, like motorcycle, but not car, in parrallel with this one, so that I can be secure of proper shutdowns in case of a couple of power failures ?

>I think it may just work better, cause it will drain the larger capacity battery not so fast, wile it drain this one completely, but what experience do you have ?

well youd definately want to use a sealed battery indoors

as far as charging goes, you might need to augment that as well?
sort of hard to say regarding the charging capacity\proceedure of the UPS you have
but as far as the inverter side goes you should be good

you might need to manually charge up the battery and then attach it for trickle and topping
after each discharge? not sure

Thanks,

This is what I was afraid to hear:
Oh, and if your cheapie UPS isn't expecting more battery capacity, it won't be expecting more run time either. So it may overheat and die, if forced to run at something near to full power for much longer than its standard battery could manage.
