Lost my UPS (APC SX (BX) 1500) the other day and I think it may have been related to an issue I will discuss elsewhere. That being DreamCatcher and an issue with what appears to be static discharge or similar when sticking my thumb drive into either of the front USB ports. Ive had the system reboot and even turn off on occasions.
Any way the last time this occurred the UPS went into an Overload condition. As a matter of fact it popped the circuit breaker (dedicated circuit). Unfortunately the reset button doesnt do anything and it still comes up in Overload status even when there is nothing plugged in. Not sure if the internal circuit breaker (reset button) has gone by the wayside or not. It seems there is no click or any tactile indication a mechanical function has/is occurring.
Since the thing is long out of warranty I guess the only way to really check this would be to pull the back off and run a continuity check on the breaker? Any other suggestions on what else to look for/at? Have an Ultra on order for the main comp, but would like to save this one to use with other computers and equipment.
