So I am buying a Crosshair V next week and I want to slowly upgrade a few things. I currently have an Asus 5850. My question is should I get a second 5850 or should I sell it and buy something in the ~$300 range since a second 5850 would cost me about $150. What would I see the best result for buying? Or should I just wait until the 7xxx series is released before upgrading my video card?

Unless there is something you cannot run properly, I would wait. That is why I still have an X1900 haha...

Well alot depends on you. If you can wait then wait. The 7000 series should make the 5000 and 6000 series drop. There will be people that will sell off their cards to get the new one.

But it also possible that a $300 card in the 7000 series could smoke a 5850 crossfire setup.

If you want something NOW, I would go for a 6950 over another 5850. Unless you could find a awesome deal on another 5850.

Keep what you have, don' get a second 5850 as crossfire has always sucked with 2 5850 or 2 5870. Or especially one 5970.
