Well, with the Battlefield 2 release date fast approaching, and me missing out on Half Life 2/Counter Strike Source, I realize I either need to build a new computer or upgrade. So, I can either build a pc with this stuff, or just buy the Memory, 6600GT, and the DVD-RW for $320.
AMD 64 2800+ $120
MSI Nvidia 6600GT $200
Asus K8N Nforce3 $85
1gb value memory $60 (after 2 rebates)
Coolermaster Cavalier w 350watt PSU $70
120gb HD $50
DVD-RW $60

Now my question is, will the AMD 2400+ in my current system be a restraint on the 6600GT if I go the upgrade route? Will the 2400+ be enough to play Half Life 2/Battlefield 2 at fairly good quality?

if your thinking about new pc path, which is what i'd do if i had the money, go with 939 not 754.

Thats the thing, I really don't have the money that the 939 requires.
All components included, my limit is about $600-$700. And even that is pushing it, thats why I'm trying to decide between upgrading or starting from scratch.

DFI nF4 UT + Winnie 3000 = under $300

OCed mine up to pretty high with memory still barely over 400MHz.
