Good day everyone! So I have built 2 years ago quite a nice pc for gaming on 1440p:
13600k
Gigabyte Z690
32gb DDR5 6000
6800 XT
My friend wants to buy my pc at quite reasonable price and I have a question - What would be the best upgrade path if money isn't a problem? (of course not with the pricing of 5000 nvidia series.haha)
I have 1440p IPS LG monitor + planning on buying OLED TV and use of PC is 90% gaming with some browsing

P.S I have no problem selling pc now and waiting for several weeks/months if something better is upcoming cause I have another laptop to work with + nintendo switch.
 
At 1440P, you don't need a better CPU, but if money is no problem, the 9800X3D is the gaming CPU to get, or wait for the 9950X3D. Otherwise, 5090, 4090, 5080, 4080, 5070 Ti, 7900 XTX, etc.
 
9800X3D, new motherboard, keep your DDR5 6000 kit, and I'd look at either the Nvidia 5070 Ti or AMD 9070 XT (we'll know way more about which to recommend in about a week)

So, basically wait till the 9070 XT reviews come out and then pick between the two - that's what I'd do anyways (y)
 
An OLED TV will be 4k, so as much vid card as you feel like spending $ on. The Radeon 9070XT and 9070 launch on March 6, the day after the RTX 5070. Sadly nothing appropriate for 4k gaming is in stock right now.

9800X3D ($480) or something noticeably cheaper for the CPU, like a Ryzen 9700X ($310) or Core i7-14700K ($330).

For 90% gaming and the rest browsing and just general personal stuff there's no reason to buy a Ryzen 9 X3D. They only have 3D cache on one of the CCDs, and the software needed to make them perform well pushes all of a game's threads onto the CCD with the 3D cache. So for gaming a 9950X3D will effectively be an 8-core CPU and a 9900X3D a 6-core cpu. You're not doing anything that would make good use of the other 6 or 8 cores, so no reason to spend $ on them.
