Hey guys, I wanted to update the bios on my 9700pro. I downloaded the proper files.. flasher, new bios:
Bios Version: 8.004
Bios Part #: 113-94206-102
Bios Date: 2002/10/17 13:33

Now I've read up a couple things on flashing etc.. so I know how to flash the card and I'm sure I can do it without a prob. But I have had a couple bad flashes happen to me on mainboards (corrupt after flash.. etc.. no boot.. )

I would like to know when flashing in DOS mode, is the 9700pro still gonna work? I don't want the display to die on me. Cause I see you can backup the present bios, so I'm wondering if the card will work if the bios doesn't. IE - will it boot to dos in order to try to fix?

I'm just wondering if someone has flashed their card bios and what kinda result did you get. I currently have the Built by ATI 9700 pro (ready to be moded.. for cooling) and old bios 113-94206-101 (as checked in my display adapter settings).

ive never heard of "updated drivers" for a card all i hear about is hacked bioses and such.

Me too. I just started to look into this, and am curious about results, and what to expect.

lol... great.. all we need now is someone that has updated their bios ;)

if you get a bad flash.. the card will not work. but what you can do is get a pci vid card, boot to dos with that vid card, and reflash your 9700 with the backed up bios.

Hmm i wonder if i still have one of those.. lol.. probly not. Unless its an old Trident of Voodoo that I got somewhere.
