I've done some searching and found a few really good posts around that took a good scientific approach to testing various fans. The only issue the data is several years old.

Does anyone have updated information comparing fans with good comparisons for cfm and db? Please post links.

Finally this is another review that compares two new Zalman fans against two other popular fans, and the Zalmans do really well. In the Xbit article I believe they mention including them in their next roundup, which will be interesting.
