Currently I am running a pair of 6870's in crossfire and I would like to move to a single card solution as some of my games won't run in crossfire correctly. And I seem to have some odd stability issues that I think can be linked to the dual card setup.

So, I am looking for a solid single card setup using what is available today as I would like to pull the trigger on the purchase within the next week and banish crossfire from my rig.

The games I play range from Mass Effect 2 (soon to be 3), Skyrim, Team Fortress 2 and I have thought about getting BF3. I have been leaning towards Nvidia as it has been a while since I have ran any of there cards but I am open to all suggestions..

I love my XFX r7970. Just got it last thursday, and man it is a big jump up from my old Asus 6850. If you got the money, I'd pull the trigger. If that's too much money, the 7950 are even better value for the price. If you want to join the green team, you'll most likely have to wait at least another 1-2 months. That is of course, if you're interested in what Kepler has to offer.

Just get the fastest single GPU you can afford. Not really have any game breaking issue with my crossfire 7970s.

None of the games you mentioned are very stressful besides BF3. Might want to try to pick up a used gtx 580 in the f/s section. I've seen them go as low as $320. I wouldn't shell out the money for a new one at this point though.
