ES = Engineering Sample. Its rare cuz only ppl who work at Intel can obtain one to begin with. You can't get one without offering big $$. Then maybe someone will give it up to ya. Just face it, you can't change the multiplies on P4. Just raise the votlage and FSB and see how high u can go.
lol, ok cool man. damn that sucks then. I found a couple different articles about doing it to the P4 online somewhere, but I didn't bother to save the pages or anything because the instructions were kind of vague and didn't include pics. owell. From what i've learned so far, i think the reason why i can't oc any higher and keep the system stable is because of my mobo. my factory mobo fsb limit is 533mhz. So, I guess I need to get me a mobo with an 800 fsb limit then huh? Then I can start upping the juice more. What's a really good overclocking mobo to get to use with a P4? I would like to get at least 3.0ghz out of my chip at the minimum if i can.Rive, yes we realize you are a newb. That's fine, we are just telling you not to bother, essentially. Where did you hear this can be done? You seemed to act as if we knew, and were withholding info, bro! Trust me, if there was a way to do it, it wouldn't be hard to find!

So, right now im doing fsb 140 with a cpu:dram ratio of 4:5 and vdimm 2.8. My latency settings give me; safe, normal, fast, turbo, and ultra. I have it set on normal right now. I can get as high as 160 bus at 4:3 and fast settings, but the system runs unstable. I've tried lower bus settings at 4:3 and also 1:1, but my current setting runs the most stable and the fastest even though the bus speed is lower. Is that because my RAM is running faster maybe? I've noticed a lot of overclockers end up slowing down their RAM to below factory settings after they tune their bus or multiplier, why would that be effective to do? Or, do I not know what I'm talking about here. My bios lets me tune my vcore from 1.5-1.625. right now it's on auto and runs at 1.5. Anybody have any pointers maybe? cause my overclock accomplishment so far is wimpy![]()

cool thanks! i just looked at that board online. i was also looking at the new IC7 Max3, that board looks bad ass. It seems like a lot of people are using Abit boards. Are they the best? I could always get one of those boards and some new ram and then get a new chip later. I probably won't be able to take my 2.4b much over 3.0 ghz will I?
