Uninstalling/Reinstalling Stock Intel HSF

I had removed my stock intel HSF while the board was still in my case to remove the stock TIM and use AS5. When I was installing it again, it was a real b*tch to get the push pins down (i remember it being a real PITA initially when i first installed it but at that time the board was not in the case). I saw the board "flex" al ot when I was doing this and I was wondering if I could casue any damage to the board by doing this?
