Power off, take out the 8800GT, put in the GTX 460, power on, and play. NVidia uses a unified driver architecture, so you don't need to re-install the drivers or anything - when it starts up it'll detect the new hardware and you'll be off and running.
Or you could do that. I do it when I'm lazy, but to be cautious you can uninstall and reinstall your drivers.
The super anal part is the key part of that sentence. There are some people who do fresh OS installs for stuff like this, but that doesn't make it necessary.
