Just this afternoon, during a Diablo II session I'm in the middle of playing and I suddenly hear my hard drive power-down.
Immediately I brace for a hard-lock crash - but instead, it powers back up (wtf?!) and Diablo II keeps running. I exit out of D2 and run the Windows diagnostics. It finds nothing. Then I use HDDScan - and now one of the SMART attributes is "yellow" (whereas all of them used to be green).
"UltraDMA CRC error count" - now has a RAW(hex) value of 5. I compare this to my 5000AAKS, which is doing just fine with a RAW(hex) value of 0. Now, it has never done this before so I don't think it's my marginal overclock.
*Is this a cause for worry?*
I'm trying to think of any causes...loose cable? I haven't opened this case for a few months (just used compressed air). Power spike? There was a storm in the area, but my surge protector didn't beep and the lights never went out either.
