This is the strangest error I've seen. This is my card @ stock speeds. 5.3 ATI drivers and running the CSS Stress Test

Anyone have a guess?

ROFL ROFL ROFL

I <3 that soooooo much. Definitley the best thing about HL2 right there.

That is the error you get for missing textures/models.

From what I understand, it's a result of the latest Steam update. When you eliminate everything in your control that could affect anything HL related, blame Steam.

Don't worry about it nothing to do with your system.
Its Steam once the next update it'll be updated
nothing new here.

AHH, Steam really is a hot steaming bowl of frothing dogfug.

I also have the ERROR and now after some minutes of playing CS:S the memory error that everyone seems to be complaining about.

Having Steam deliver HL2 and CS:S is like Jennifer Lopez arriving in a rusty 1977 Ford Pinto

I'd still rather have a rusty 1977 Ford Pinto bring jennifer lopez to me automatically whenever something new happens than have to go out in my own car and pick her up.

Not when the rusty pinto brings me Jennifer Lopez a limp, a lisp and 70 pounds more.

Is this the error that everyone else is getting also or am I special?

Edit: This has gotten off topic so let me say that I'm running a 6800GT with no overclock

ahahahah

Shit I get that error too....well both actually. The memory error is really flukey...it happens sometimes within 5 mintues of playing or after 4 hours it wont do it...stupid steam

I only get the memory error when overclocking, even just a small amount. I have never seen it with everything at stock speeds.

I'm getting it with absolutely no overclock anywhere on my system. Actually I played D3 for a few hours an no problem.

HL2 > D3
D3 Engine > Source

I am having same problems as you numb. Should we wait until next update or uninstall and reinstall with the 5 discs (DVD steam? hello?). Steam dosen't bother me until this stuff.

I get that same error msg, its goes away when I dont OC my cpu :(, wounder is there anyway to fix, I tried steam forums but no one knows, all they do is give me this useless link that give tips on trying to stop this error : http://steampowered.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=278
if anyone fixes this error please HELP :)

I found my problem with the memory error. I changed the CL from 2 to 2.5 in BIOS. Ok fine, but why have I been able to play DOOM 3 several times without this error? Whats the difference?
