U2711 Ordered - Dual-Link DVI Needed

Eh, it's digital, right? It either works or not. You should never get a "mixed" signal over DVI or HDMI. I just buy the cheapest digital cables I can find (from stores with return policies). Never had one give me a problem yet.

I believe you were talking to an idiot. Dell ships dual link cables with monitors that require it.

It would be a support nightmare if they didn't.

Agreed. Maybe the rep was just trying to sell you an outrageously overpriced cable?
