Two Power Supplies?

Hi,

My new case can take two power supplies. The thing is, how would you get both of them running at the same time? Does a power supply just work plugged into the wall? Is there some certain connector I need?

I only want to do 2 because I might need it, I have 9 120mm fans, gonna have a 7800, a 3800 x2, and a few other things. Plus later I am going to upgrade to SLI. So any help would be nice, thanks.

So with the 9 fans, and everything else I can make it with one power supply?

Which would you reccomend for that? Something that can do SLI, handly 9 fans, and the AMD 3800x2. I am thinking 2 SATA drives, 2 optical drives, Soundblaster x-fi fatal1ty, about 2 gig of ram, and I am looking to overclock at one point.

9 120mm fans? I think you need somethine along these lines.

What kind of case is this? My old roomates quad pentium pro is the only thing I've seen that had that many 120mm fans.

9 120mm fans? What are you building a flying case?
In any case, 9 120mm fans is at most 4-5A @12V, no where near enough to start worrying about a second supply.

The only thing I'm thinking is with two graphics cards, all those fans, and the drives it might be good to get a supply with a unified 12V rail like the Turbo Cool 510 SLI or the OCZ PowerStream 520 SLI.

This Case Here

It seems to provide a lot of space and airflow, which is what i wanted, plus it shouldnt be too hard to hide wires. And if I ever want to watercool, I have that whole other half to put most of the parts in. This is a case that should last me... a while. :)

Thanks for the info guys, but keep it coming, since I have yet to purchase most of the parts since i just found out my credit card is totally maxored.

I used to have one of those, they are a great case. The only bad thing about thing about them is they tend to be loud since the fans are all right there.

Oh and good luck on the credit card thing. ;)
