two dell 20" widescreens?

to confuse the issue even more, throw in the new Dell 22" into the mix. Since it goes for $296 and seems to have the same specs also, the decision is ever so hard.
 
at least from the sound of some of the reviews the E series performs worse despite the higher spec? so the 2007 is still the one to beat?

Also, i was curious how the 2007 compares to the also favorable reviews Viewsonic 2025vx, although once dell solved their banding issue it sounded like they had the superior panel in the end.
 
I have a dell 2007 wfp with S-IPS. EXCELLENT monitor, but don't waste your time now.

They now send them as either S-IPS or S-PVA. You'll either get a gift from God of a gift from Satan.
 
well....but i want one, if not with them i dont know who, but i get a discount.

since this is such a glaring issue, can i not jsut call up, order it over the phone and request that panel (and if they cannot accomodate just return it if it is incorrect?).
 
I'd recommend some other 20" display. Those Dells aren't best of the lot, plus Dell changed original S-IPS panel, so now it's a lottery to get S-IPS panel based 20" Dell. I really doubt that you'll be able to phone them and ask for S-IPS model, although it can't hurt to try (but even if you get S-IPS based one, there are sill better 20" displays).
 
well there's always something better it seems, but most of the comparisons i've looked at the dell has been on top, if there's something obviously better it has eluded me.
