Hi guys, I recently bought 2 more Microcenter (A-Data) 64GB drives for my wifes pc (my first two in my pc are still working flawlessly). Everything seemed fine until about a week later when she turned on her pc and it couldn't load WindowsXP because it couldn't find Windows\System32\config\system. First time I ran FIXMBR and it worked, but 3 days later it did it again and FIXMBR didn't work. Since I had "ghosted" her 36GB Raptor to the new RAID setup, I simply hooked her old drive back up and she's back up on that. I'm good with computers, but some things I have limited knowledge of.

Any insight/suggestions would be most appreciated.

I'm afraid I don't have the answer to your question, but a couple of things concern me with your setup, specifically what performance will be like in the future. First, you obviously lose TRIM support with a RAID setup (not that XP has it anyway). In addition, I was under the impression that those drives didn't have much (if any) garbage collection since they are SandForce and pretty much assume you are using a TRIM-compatible OS. If that is true, the life on these drives could be limited.

Also, those drives are 4k aligned, but your Raptor HDD will not be. If you simply ghosted the partition over, the sectors will not be aligned correctly. As such, you are probably taking a performance hit since the drive has to read more information than it should to get your data.
