I just put a new sapphire radeon 9600 xt ultimate edition into my computer. Everything works great except for a subtle problem I'm experiencing with tv out. It's hard to see on the desktop, but when watching a darker movie or during a screensaver with a black background I notice horizontal bands continuously moving slowly upwards on my screen. My friend's geforce fx 5600 doesn't seem to have this problem. I've tried the card on a couple television sets and get the same thing on each. Has anyone had this problem before and if so, how did you fix it???

It sounds like you might have a power cable too close to the video cable, or some other interference. Try moving cables. Also, is the TV right next to your monitor? One can interfere with the other...

And there's really no need to bump after 2 1/2 hours...
 
I tried moving cables around. I triend buying new cables (monster, gold plated). No a monitor isn't near (this is going to be a HTPC when I'm done).. I'm puszzled. Anyone have ANY ideas? I need to solve this soon so I can still RMA it to newegg if nothing works.
 
Well, it turned out to be interference caused from another av cable. Just took a little unplugging and bam - it was gone.
 
I'm getting this same thing, but with multiple video cards. I've tried a ti4200, X800 XT and 9800XT. I've used the s-video front inputs on my TV everytime, would it possibly be a problem with the input plug itself?
 
it is a problem with the input. Try unpluggin every other input from the tv, including the cable, so that you just have the video in from the computer hooked up. That's what worked for me. Don't know why though..
