Tutorial: Custom Power Button
Items Needed:
Philips Screw Driver
On/Off Button
Soldering Iron
Power Switch Lead
Drill and Drill Bit
Wire Cutters
Pen/Pencil
Step 1
First of all remove the computer side panel.
Step 2
Secondly, find where the power button lead goes to on the mother board and unplug it.
Step 3
Next remove the button from its casing. Take care not the damage the button or the casing.
Step 4
Remove Panel where you wish to place the button or clear where it will be.
Step 5
Measure The diameter of the button, the part that will sit in the case.
Step 6
Make a mark where you want to place the button and drill a hole their, make sure the drill bit is 1 or 2mm bigger then your button to leave room for it to sit in. File the edges down remove any lips and so it doesn't damage the button.
Step 7
Next cut the button off and strip the wires.
Step 8
Find the which side it + and -, then thread the wires through.
Step 9
Solder the wire down.
Step 10
Thread wire though the hole in the case and place on the bit the tighten it down.
Step 10
Place panel back on, plug lead in, then gaze at the awesomeness!

Step 8
Find the which side it + and -, then thread the wires through.

Step 9
Solder the wire down.

Step 10
Thread wire though the hole in the case and place on the bit the tighten it down.

Step 10
Place panel back on, plug lead in, then gaze at the awesomeness!
