I have an Actiontec GT704WGB DSL Modem with WIfi and I'd like to turn it into a wireless access point. It is connected to a switch with my Fedora PC also connected with Internet Connection Sharing enabled via Network Manager. The IP address of the PC is 10.42.43.1. DHCP is disabled on the DSL Modem. When I ping google.com from the modem (via the telnet interface) the name resolves to an IP address but ping returns:

PING google.com (74.125.95.105): 56 data bytes

--- google.com ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

Is it possible to turn this modem into an access point? At least DNS resolution works.
Here are the modem's settings. The WebUI and telnet interface are via 10.42.43.2. Here are the modems settings.

If you can disable DHCP and ignore the WAN interface, it should act as a simple AP. All the clients will be getting their configuration from your main router's DHCP server, so the Actiontec shouldn't be trying to do anything with the traffic passing through.
