Hello, I have a general question. The X shaped brace that goes on the back of the motherboard, it says that the raised screw holes must go through the holes on the motherboard.

Well yeah... That isn't happening unless I get vice grips and force them all through. Is it that important to get them to go through the motherboard holes? I am thinking that it will pull itself through once I start tightening the heatsink down.

Thoughts please?
 
It should pull itself through, i just did mine recently with no snags. What i did was tighten them all in a diagonal pattern. Should work out pretty well.
 
So in other words, I don't have to force them through right now, correct? I can wait until I attach the heat sink?

all i did was removed the paper covering the sticking part. stuck it on the motherboard, and screwed the screws through. didn't crack the motherboard and has been working fine for 8 months.
