hi,

I'm building a new pc and looking for good hardware online shops that are based in the UK.

so far i have found:

dabs.com

komplett.co.uk

ebuyer.com

These seem to have good prices for components, although many of the places seem to have withdrawn telephone support/sales. I have read bad things about couriers damaging goods from certain places, though i'm not sure if this is common.

also for component price searches there is:

pricerunner.co.uk
kelkoo.co.uk

I'm not sure if they favour certain websites. kelkoo doesn't seem terribly well organised.

Anyone else got any info on good/cheap UK computer online shops or good price search engines?

Dabs are great provided that nothing goes wrong, otherwise they are hellish. Ebuyer same thing. Tekheads.co.uk have some cool stuff, particularly the noiseblocker fans.
cclonline.co.uk is pretty good for some stuff, support is great although prices not too amazing.
overclock.co.uk and overclockers.co.uk are both great, with the first being the better one. Hit up hexus.net, they have a UK reseller ratings style thingy on there.

Edit: Do yourself a favour and pay extra to not have parcel force, you wouldnt even comprehend how bad they are, or good if they are in a box smashing contest.

Id have to say there pretty good too

oh yeh on shipping ive had terrible experiances with InitialCityLink

Ordered speedtouch modem didnt arrive

Phoned Store they dispatched another

Didnt arrive

Phoned Store they dispatched another

2 weeks after that one arrives battered

3 weeks later another arrives

4 weeks later the 3rd arrive

However i got 3 speedtouch modems in the end!!

Sorry to threadjack, but does anyone know of a source for either G.Skill or ocz VX, the bh-5 like stuff, in the uk? How about watercooling kit? IM looking for either an Innovatek or Aquacomputer stockist with a decent range of gpu blocks.

This seems to be a pretty comprehensive forum, giving info on the best UK retailers. The retailers are then given a score which is calculated by customer opinions and their personal experience of each company.

Bought some memory off komplett which was delivered quickly, no probs. Overclockers, seem to sell everything u need & at a good price, but they never ever answer their phone lol. so i think i'll have to try somewhere else. Wouldn't want to be trying to ring them if there was a problem, could take weeks.

If there are any other such UK retailer review forums or even some good eshops, please let me know :)
