TRUE Washer Mod? TRUE Push/Pull? Worth It?

just wonder how much temp difference if you have 2 ultra kaze 3000rpm push/pull config adn washer mod thanks
 
Not sure what the washer mod did to mine temp wise, I just threw a washer in between the mount and the block to make it rotate a bit less when I first installed it. If you can find a small washer lying around there really isn't any reason not to go ahead with this five second fix.
 
Using the washer mod alone my temps dropped 8 degrees C. From what I read the fan push/pull only reduces temps 1 to 2 degrees C.
 
I tried out the washer mod on my TRUE some time ago and got zip, some people claim huge gains, the only way to know is to try it out your self. Push/pull Kaze fans is just over kill and your ears are going to bleed. I had the same set up but with 2 Delta 150cfm+ fans and it was not worth the added noise, I now run a single 120x38mm fan at 900rpm and it cools just fine. If you have one Kaze fan I would guess you would get at best 5C less over a single fan. If all you are doing is benching, its a great setup, but if this is an every day PC you are going to hate yourself unless you are deaf or live on the runway of an airport.
 
i use push/pull cause i had extra fans and this lets me use lower rpm(in theory never tested it).

It can let you use lower speeds on your fans, however, the extra fan does add noise, so its a matter of temp vs added noise and tone changes of that noise. Two slower but louder fans might be less intrusive on your ears than a single higher rpm fan, but the only way to know is to test with your setup.
 
Had to lap just over a millimeter off my TRUE to get it flat, and by that time the washer mod was necessary. Even before lapping the TRUE could benefit from the washer mod, more compression will equal a thinner layer of thermal paste, if applied properly.

i had 2 silverstone 120x120x32mm fans so why not use em :p
