Guy I know got a gf 2 mx 200 64 meg from fry's that didn't have ANY heatsink on it... he didn't think anything of it. He got random freezes and finally he replaced his vid card (after it finally fried).

Moral: Unless you have like 5 year old video card... ALL video cards SHOULD HAVE HEATSINKS OR HSF's on them.

great story :S not like most of the gf2 mx cards that do have heatsinks have the heatsink seated properly, i even had one that had sweat on it(condensation) cuz of the huge gap

My geforce 2 mx 200 64meg didnt even have a heatsink on it. It worked well enough didnt crash unless I overclocked.

Of course that card was manufactured for a compaq and you know their components have to be of the highest quality and standards.;)

Odd.. maybe he just got a bad card... but still.. that's maybe the only exception in video cards... no other card you can find that is semi-new doesn't have a heatsink.
