Trouble with partitions

I opened PM 8 drive info. There is a partition labeled as ExtendedX. Is there a way I can convert it back to NTFS?
 
Ok I made some progress I changed a few odds and ends in administrative options.

Is there anyway I can save the data on the 47gb extended space? There is no partition set to it so i can browse it.

dont you mean can't browse it?

erasing the history of your problem (1st post) doesnt help alot

you might be able to recover the Partition with Disk Patch

a direct scan might work as well
what file system is it (and was it?)
 
It was an NTFS partition that i was merging with another NTFS partition. The whole partition (47gb) was supposed to merged into a folder i create on my 29gb partition. I have tried looking in the folder for data but its just not showing up.
