Tri-Fire, Microstutter, and Bus Speed

I'm wondering because I have 3x 120hz monitors and experience 0 microstutter. I'm wondering if I would have been SOL if I bought 3 IPS 60hz panels instead. Anyway 120hz is the fluidity I need now. I don't think i'll ever step backwards.

I'm all up for 120Hz, but I'll wait until you can get it at 2560x1600.

Grunt, have you tried the limiter? Some feedback would be nice :)

^^ this. I use bandicam which works in more games but try either. It's fixed my stutter issues in a lot of eyefinity games, just do as the above poster said and limit it to your minimum fps.

Tried to post my results the other night but my computer froze up...I DID try dxtory but it only induced the microstutter when I limited fps to 60 or 45.

I'm using bandicam to limit my FPS to 60, and it works. However I'm getting this issue in Bad Company 2 where the screen goes completely black, I'm totally blind and it only shows the game whenever I shoot the gun from the muzzle flash. Besides that, I have to quit the game.

I'm using Catalyst 11.9

Why can't Crossfire ever work?

That's a bug whether or not you use the limiter, is prevalent with BC2, and is unlikely to ever be fixed.

So its a combination of ATi's crap quality and a game controlled by EA? Cause I still get this slight screen tear even when the fps is a constant 60. You see a "rendering line", obviously this is w/ vsync off. With vsync on, you get input lag like hell.

Nvidia's shuddering isn't as bad, its kinda like Intel making better CPU's than AMD.

AMD/ATi is just making cheaper, but shittier hardware I guess. It can't do crossfire for shit and even with a single card, I can't overclock it cause it causes screen flickering in Windows desktop and in the game menu's, unless I modify the card bios.

Next time I'm gonna be forced to spend my money on top dollar components cause I can't tolerate this shit anymore.

Fps capped at 60 doesn't eliminate tearing in fact it makes it more visible. Which is why UT3 engines always cap at 62fps not 60. Only vsync solves tearing.

Lmfao - post of the week?

1. non-vendor-specific tearing issue - blames AMD
2. non-vendor-specific input lag with vsync (that's how the tech works folks!) - still blames AMD
3. Thinks driver and game related issues mean inferior quality hardware - blames AMD
