I've been using this thing for a couple years and it's been a great device. Lately it's been acting up so I reset it to defaults and started over. I did not do these tests beforehand, so it is possible that this issue has been going on a while but I know when the device was new, it did not have this issue.
The issue: on speedtest.net I am getting download speeds of 4Mb, 8Mb, and 12Mb. Not so terribly bad, right? The wireless card on my laptop gets 24Mb, which is what it should be getting. Any ideas why the Trendnet would be performing at less than 50% speed? I will mention upload speeds are nearly identical on both cards.
